As a side hustler and an active advocate for side hustling to achieve financial comfort, I believe that it’s important to discuss how side hustling ties into the American Dream. And when we talk about the American Dream, is it a fallacy or fantasy? This question is especially important as it relates to side hustling for social good. Can we use side hustling to achieve the American Dream, or is that a fallacy? Let’s take a look…

Is the American Dream Real for Black Folks?

The American Dream. It’s an ideal you’re probably familiar with. The American Dream is a belief that America provides the opportunity for anyone to achieve their goals, aspirations, and upward mobility. The American Dream ideal also says that this is possible for anyone, regardless of their background in America. But knowing what we know about social and structural issues in America this ideal can sound a lot like a fantasy.

This brings up the question: Is the American Dream real for Black People in America?
